Dance Extreme’s Covid-19 Protocols

In light of COVID-19 we continue to do everything we can to mitigate risk and prevent exposure among the dancers, faculty and staff. We are practicing social distancing, wearing face coverings, disinfecting barres, floors, and any other surfaces the dancers might touch between every class. We use a government-approved cleaner throughout the studio to ensure that our campers, dancers, faculty and staff are kept safe.

Prior to entering the studio…

Everyone will be required to complete the Dance Extreme Covid-19 Screener/Tracking Form. The form can be accessed here http://bit.ly/dxcovidtracking or by scanning the QR code below. We require that all dancers entering the building fill out this electronic form prior to being granted access to the building. You will need to show an electronic or printed receipt of the completed form upon entering.

Face Mask Protocol ~

  • Children under the age of 12 do not require a mask
  • Parents entering our facility will require a mask
  • NEW* Students over the age of 12 will require a mask as they enter and exit the building but will remove their mask in the dance studio and place it with their belongings.
  • Change rooms are now allowed to be open but we will be keeping them closed for summer classes

Half-Day Dance Camp Protocol

What You Can Expect this season due to COVID-19:

~ Everyone entering and exiting Dance Extreme will be required to use hand sanitizer (it will be provided).

~ We have staggered start and end times to reduce the number of students entering and exiting the building at one time.

~ In each studio, we have created social/physical distance boxes. Using colourful tape to help guide students and to practice our rights and lefts.

~ All students will come dressed, ready for class. Students will require a dance bag for their dance shoes, a water bottle and to put their outside clothing in. This bag will remain with students as the change rooms are currently closed.

~ Only one parent will be permitted into the studio for children in Creative Movement, Movers and Shakers, Tumblers and all Pre-Dance Classes (Pre-Ballet, Pre-Jazz, Pre-Tap, Pre-Acro and *NEW* Pre-Hip Hop). No other parents or family members (including siblings) will be allowed into the studio.

~ Parents must complete Dance Extreme Covid-19 Screener/Tracking Form each day their child comes into the studio. Parents/caregivers must also complete the online health waiver for themselves when accompanying their children to Creative Movement, Movers and Shakers, Tumblers, and Pre-Dance classes.

~ Any parent coming into Dance Extreme must wear a mask.

~ If a child or anyone in the household is unwell, the child is not permitted to attend class. In this instance, children will be encouraged to participate in class via Zoom at home.

~ All dance classes will be broadcast via Zoom. A private Zoom link will be provided for parents to view their child’s class from outside the studio.

~ Class sizes are limited depending on the size of the room.

~ To ensure access to dance classes for dancers who are unable to attend in-studio classes, a selection of classes will be offered via Zoom at a 20% discount (these classes will not participate in our end-of-the-year recital).

~ If Dance Extreme is required to suspend in-studio classes due to an Emergency Declaration or other required closure(s), all dance classes will continue via Zoom. Clients will continue to pay for classes and will receive a 20% discount on their fees.

~ We will implement any other safety protocols required by the government and/or the health unit.

~ As we are no longer able to share materials and props in classes, Creative Movement and Movers and Shakers students will be required to purchase a “Prop Bag” and bring these props to class each week. Prop bags will be available for sale at the DX Dance Boutique.

Thank you for your cooperation!

We cannot do this without you. Dance Extreme has taken every measure possible to keep our dancers, faculty, and staff healthy and safe. Children that are not feeling well or have fever are asked to stay home and take class virtually. Thank you for doing your part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
