Dance Extreme’s Covid-19 Protocols

We continue to do everything we can to mitigate risk and prevent exposure among the dancers, faculty and staff. Everyone is practicing social distancing, wearing face coverings, disinfecting barres, floors, and any other surfaces the dancers might touch between every class. A government-approved cleaner is used in the studio to kept everyone safe.

Prior to entering the studio…

Everyone is required to complete the Dance Extreme Covid-19 Screener above prior to entering.

Face Mask Protocol ~

  • Parents entering our facility will require a mask
  • Everyone over the age of 2 is required to wear a mask in the building. Dancers can remove their mask in the dance studio and placed it with their belongings.
  • We are keeping change rooms closed.

Dance Class Protocols

Please watch this video if your child will be attending dance classes at the studio.

What You Can Expect this Season due to COVID-19:

Everyone entering and exiting Dance Extreme will be required to use hand sanitizer (it is provided).

Classes are staggered to reduce the number of students entering and exiting the building at one time.

In each studio, we have created social/physical distance boxes. Using colourful tape to help guide students and to practice our rights and lefts.

All students will come dressed, ready for class. Students will require a dance bag for their dance shoes, a water bottle and to put their outside clothing in. Dance bags stay with dancers and are taken into their class room.

One parent or caregiver is permitted inside the studio with dancers in the following classes; Creative Movement, Movers and Shakers, Tumblers and all Pre-Dance Classes (Pre-Ballet, Pre-Jazz, Pre-Tap, Pre-Acro and Pre-Hip Hop). No other parents or family members (including siblings) will be allowed into the studio.

Dancers/Parents must complete Dance Extreme Covid-19 Screener/Tracking each day their child comes into the studio. Parent/Caregiver must complete the online screening for themselves when coming into the building or accompanying their children to Creative Movement, Movers and Shakers, Tumblers, and Pre-Dance classes.

Any parent coming into Dance Extreme must wear a mask.

If a child or anyone in the household is unwell, your dancer is not permitted to attend class. In this instance, the dancer is encouraged to participate in class via Zoom at home.

All dance classes have a private Zoom link available for parents to view their child’s class from outside the studio through your studio director account. Please ensure you change the user name to your dancer’s name and turn off your video and mute your speaker to watch the class.

Class sizes are limited based on size and government regulations.

To ensure access to dance classes for dancers who are unable to attend in-studio classes, a selection of classes will be offered via Zoom at a 20% discount (these classes will not participate in our end-of-the-year recital).

If Dance Extreme is required to suspend in-studio classes due to an Emergency Declaration or other required closure(s), all dance classes will continue via Zoom. Clients will continue to pay for classes and will receive a 20% discount on their fees.

We will implement any other safety protocols required by the government and/or the health unit.

We are unable to share materials and props in classes. Creative Movement and Movers and Shakers students are required to purchase a “Prop Bag” and bring to class each week. Prop bags will be available for sale at the DX Dance Boutique.

Thank you for your cooperation!

We cannot do this without you. Dance Extreme has taken every measure possible to keep our dancers, faculty, and staff healthy and safe. All dancers who are feeling unwell, have a fever or can not answer no to the screening questions are asked to stay home and take class virtually. Thank you for doing your part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
